CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Students of our school are highly talented and participate in various curricular, co-curricular activities.  They also participate in Inter school competitions in sports and various other fields at the Taluk, District, State, National and International levels and have won many accolades in most of the competitions.

Our school is giving its students an exposure to a wide range of Co-curricular activities in order to help them to develop various facets of their personality. The classroom builds the intellectual aspect where as these co-curricular activities develops the physical, psychological, Ethical, academic, aesthetic, cultural, recreational, and disciplinary values which in turn develop the spirt of healthy competition.

Our school has arranged different co-curricular activities according to the requirement of the students.  It is compulsory for students to participate in co-curricular activities and many such activities are certificate oriented.  Certificates are provided to the students on successful completion of the activities.

Primary School (Lower- 1st to 3rd Standard)

  1. English soft skill: It helps the student in improving the negotiation, presenting and writing skills.  We introduce and habituate the children to communicate in simple English.

  2. Cursive writing:  It helps in the development of the students cognitive and sensorimotor region.  We emphasise and encourage children to develop the habit of writing anything neat and beautiful.

  3. Abacus: A tool taught to students to improve the mathematical calculation, concentration, imagination and boosts creativity.

  4. Art and Craft:  It involves the students in making things that intern helps them to learn and understand difficult concepts.   It also promotes their creativity and imagination.   

Kannada creative writing: It improves the expository, descriptive, convincing and narrative qualities of the student.

Higher Primary School (4th to 7th Standard)

  1. Abacus: A tool taught to students to improve the mathematical calculation, concentration, imagination and boosts creativity.

  2. Yoga: An ancient practice which helps the student to build the strength, awareness and brings together the mind and body. It includes breathing techniques, asanas, mediation to reduce stress and encourage relaxation.

  3. Karate: It helps the student in developing defensive and counter attacking techniques for self-defence.  Talented students are encouraged to participate in the competitions and get certificate from Bhagat Singh Association which is recognised by the Akhila Karnataka Sports Karate Association.

  4.  Personality development: A process which organises the thought and behaviour patterns of the student which develops and enhances one’s personality to gain confidence and high self-esteem.

  5. Band set: A group of students learning different instruments for programmes in the school are drums, flute, Snare drum, Cymbals and many more.

  6. Sanskrit: The language when learnt by the students help them build a relationship between Prakriti and Sanskrit.

High School (8th to 10th)

  1. Abacus: A tool taught to students to improve the mathematical calculation, concentration, imagination and boosts creativity.

  2. Yoga: An ancient practice which helps the student to build the strength, awareness and brings together the mind and body. It includes breathing techniques, asanas, mediation to reduce stress and encourage relaxation.

  3. Vedic maths: It is a methodology which helps the students for fast calculations having Vedic Sutras which saves time in maths and has benefits & features to develop mental maths, speed in maths, lot of tricks and short cut methods.  There are 16 main sutras and 13 sub-sutras. They can be used in measurement, arithmetic, algebra, geometry and calculus.

  4. Gymnastics: It is a sport which develops the physical exercises requiring balance, strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, dedication and endurance of the students. The movements involved in gymnastics contribute to the development of the arms, legs, shoulders, back, chest, and abdominal muscle groups.

  5. Computer:   As it is a digital world that is connecting the whole world. The students have to be well equipped for the competitive world of today, hence the school has arranged for class to update the students.  Computer programs like Coral draw, Photoshop etc are included in the syllabus.

  6. Dance:  Dance is one of the most beautiful, graceful and expressive form of art known to mankind. It helps the students to develop the ability to pursue expression and emotions through various movements using their creativity and imagination.  

  7. Singing: It helps the student to lower stress, boost immunity and lung function, enhance memory, improve mental health, and help them to cope with physical and emotional pain.

  8. Drawing: It helps the students to improve creativity, release of hidden emptions, increases emotional intelligence and stress release.
